Japanese pubcaster NHK has acquired a pair of US-themed current affairs documentaries from French distributor Java Films, which has also acquired two more Stateside films.
NHK will air the 1x90mins doc Documented and 1x52mins Drones: Obama’s Dirty War.
Documented looks at life for illegal immigrants in the US through the eyes of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas, who revealed he was an undocumented immigrant in 2011.
Drones comes from Premiere Lignes and looks at controversial US drone attacks, which have been extensively used on the country’s War on Terror.
Vendor Java has also picked up distribution rights to Homestretch, which follows a trio of homeless Chicago teenage school kids, and Walking the Camino, about the hundreds of thousands of people that walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain.
