Al Jazeera picks up kids package from Zodiak
Al Jazeera has acquired a package of programmes from Zodiak for its Arabic kids channels Jeem and preschool service Baraem TV.
It has taken Zodiak Kids titles including The Ranch, Rekkit Rabbit (pictured) and Horrid Henry.
The Qatar-based broadcaster has also relicensed Monster Buster Club and Escape from Scorpion Island.
Jowaher Al Nasr is now director of acquisition and commissioning at JCC and said: “Bringing programmes loved by children and trusted by parents has been our mission for the past eight years and we are pleased to do so in partnership with Zodiak Kids”.
Karen Vermeulen, senior VP global sales and coproduction, Zodiak Kids said: “We are extremely pleased to have concluded this deal with one of the region’s leading broadcasters. This agreement underlines how our business is growing across MENA – which we consider a thriving territory and an increasingly important revenue stream.”
