Shyamalan to make Wayward trip to Cannes with Fox
Fox International Channels Content Sales is bringing Hollywood director M. Night Shyamalan to MIPCOM.
The director will present his Fox limited series Wayward Pines at the market, participating in the From Cult to Mainstream: Film & TV Crossroads Case Studiespanel on October 15.
FICCS will be shopping all international television windows for the show, which is based on a best-selling novel by Blake Crouch and follows a secret service agent (Matt Dillon) investigating the disappearance of two federal agents in a strange town.
“With an outstanding cast and powerful storytelling from M. Night Shyamalan, Wayward Pinesmarks an exciting launch for FIC Content Sales,” said Simon Thomas, FIC executive vice president of global sports and content sales. “We look forward to introducing the series and other top-rating FIC content to buyers at MIPCOM.”
FICCS was launched last month as 21st Century Fox-owned FIC’s new global distribution brand. Thomas leads the new division as EVP, while others such as Caleb Weinstein and Connie Hodson have joined the staff the new-look unit.
FICCS will also be selling National Geographic Channel’s The ‘90s: The Decade that Connected Us and Science of Stupid, plus natural history two-partner Kingdom of the Apes.
