Ex-Scott Free London boss launches prodco

Liza Marshall, formerly of Scott Free Productions, has launched a film and TV production company with movie producer and financier Kris Thykier.

The new firm, Archery Pictures, will see Marshall and Thykier becoming joint managing directors, with the latter shuttering his company, PeaPie Films, and moving his staff and slate across to the new firm.

Archer’s staff will include Pip Williams, who will be senior development and production executive and Mairi Bett, who will be head of physical production.

Marshall established Scott Free London, the British arm of Scott Free, four and half years ago, and produced films such as Before I Go to Sleep and Welcome to the Punch, and produced the YouTube documentaries Life in a Day. Her TV projects also included Britain in a Day, Labryinth and the upcoming BBC One drama Taboo, which stars Tom Hardy.

Before Scott Free, she was head of drama at Channel 4 and a producer at BBC Drama.

Thykier’s films have grossed more than US$325 million, and is currently working on Kasper Barfoed’s Summer of ’92 and The Weinstein Company’s Adam Jones. He also produced films such as One Chance, I Give it a Year and Ill Manors, and before PeaPie was business partner with director Matthew Vaughn at MARV Films (Kick-Ass, Stardust).

“I hope that together we can build Archery Pictures into a modern international production house, able to work freely across film, television and other content platforms,” he said.
