France 2 goes Missing with Spanish drama format
French broadcaster France 2 has commissioned a remake of Spanish crime drama Desparecida (Missing).
The show will be known as Disparue, and go out on the public channel in 2015 following the deal with format rights owner Grupo Ganga.
Local producer Quad Television is producing.
The format follows the emotional rollercoaster of the family after its 18-year-old girl goes missing during town celebrations, leading police to make suspects of the entire settlement.
Remakes of the show, which won the Grand Drama Awards in Seoul in 2008, have been produced in Greece, Austria and Germany. The French version will be broadcasted next year.
“We are very happy to work together with Quad Television and will love seeing yet another local format of Desparecida come to life,” said Jose Miguel Barrera, acquisitions and sales manager at Grupo Ganga.
“We strongly believe in the international potential of our format and the capacity of the Spanish audiovisual industry to export our talent and our fiction.”
