Flame brings Thring’s Great Estates to Cannes

Australia-based Flame Distribution is taking to Cannes a new PBS doc series about historic Scottish estates that has former National Geographic exec Edwina Thring attached.

Great Estates Scotland will go behind the scenes at estates such as Dumfries House and Inveraray Castle. Scotland-based indie B4Films is producing alongside Thring’s Wild Thring Media.

“The unprecedented access that we were afforded was amazing,” said B4Films’s Jim Brown. “The series will give a great insight into how these estates operate.”

Flame will launch the show, which debuted on PBS in the US yesterday, at MIPCOM.

Thring exited her role at National Geographic Television International at the end of 2011, news TBI broke at the time, and subsequently went on to launch Wild Thring.
