Pascal Breton’s Federation has drama trio for MIPCOM
Federation Entertainment, the new production and distribution group formed by former Marathon Images boss Pascal Breton, is bringing a trio of new drama series to its first MIPCOM.
Witnesses became the latest French-language drama to secure a foreign sale this week, with UK broadcaster Channel 4 buying the France 2 thriller, and French drama is in vogue.
Federation, which is making Netflix’s first French series, Marseilles, will launch series including The Office of Legends (Le Bureau des Légendes) at the market. The Canal+ show is set within the French secret service and follows the French agents as they are dispatched around the world.
It is produced by TOP – The Oligarchs Productions and Breton is a copro partner.
The new distributor will also have Finnish-produced drama Replacements, which isproduced with Finland’s Fisher King. Set in the near future, the twelve-part series follows a young woman who meets a clone who has been created to save her life.
The scripted line-up is rounded out with The Greenhouse, the 175x22mins Israeli teen drama about a pair of orphan siblings who are sent to an elite boarding school for brilliant future leaders.
“We are delighted to launch Federation Entertainment’s first series line-up at MIPCOM. Heading up our offerings are three series that all share in common the highest possible production quality, compelling themes that are universal in scope and outstanding casts,” said Jean-Michel Ciszewski, head of international distribution for Federation Entertainment.
