Amazon extends StudioCanal movie deal

Amazon Prime Instant Video has renewed its movie deal with Europe’s StudioCanal.

The multi-year extension to an existing agreement hands Amazon’s on-demand services in the UK and Germany upcoming films such as Paddington (pictured) and Shaun the Sheep.

Post-apocalyptic teen trilogy The Hunger Games will also be available in Germany, where the service is under pressure following the launch of rival Netflix in the territory.

Furthermore, Amazon will launch some of StudioCanal’s British series as branded ‘Amazon Originals’.

Library titles in the deal include Apocalypse Now and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
