Eccho format continues to Crack Them Up

Eccho Rights comedy panel format Crack Them Up is headed for five new territories, including the US.

The Ukrainian format has been given the greenlight by US cable channel GSN, with Electus attached to develop and produce the show. In Vietnam, HTV7 will launch an in-house production next April.

Talk To You and Ah! Production in France, Magnolia in Italy and 1,000 Volts in Belgium have also acquired production rights to the shows.

”In an age when the big talent shows have perhaps had their day, broadcasters are looking for the next big genre and comedy shows are lining up to take their place at the top of the listings,” said Eccho Rights’ managing partner Nicola Söderlund.

”Crack Them Up is the break out hit of the year for us with 9 versions on air or in the works. It is a fact that everywhere the show has aired it has been a hit with viewers and we expect these latest versions to achieve the same kind of success.”

The format comes from Ukraine’s Studio Kvartal.

Eccho Rights’ shows at MIPCOM include Turkish drama Cherry Burst, which comes from Istanbul-based Surec Film and goes out on Fox TV.
