Zodiak poaches another Endemol exec for formats

Zodiak Media has poached Endemol Australia exec Nathan Gibbs and he will take the newly-created role of group head of format acquisitions at the production and distribution group.

At Zodiak, he will report to another ex-Endemol formats exec and colleague, Grant Ross, who became executive VP, global creative development and format acquisitions earlier this year.

At Endemol Australia, Gibbs was head of development and an exec producer, working on the local versions of shows including Big Brother and Undercover Boss. He also acquired third-party titles for Endemol Australia including Survivor and Don’t Tell the Bride.

“As our production companies continue to grow in their local markets, broadcasters are looking to them to provide more and more content,” Grant Ross said. “We’re accelerating our internal creativity to respond to this, and Nathan will help us do the same with regards to third party format acquisitions.”
