Scripps appoints Discovery veteran as Euro programming boss
Scripps Networks UK and EMEA has appointed long-time Discovery Networks International executive Katharina Feistauer as its vice president of programming.
Feistauer will take up her role in December and will be responsible for programme planning and strategy, as well as leading content sourcing and acquisitions.
She will report to Scripps Networks UK and EMEA’s senior vice president of content and marketing, Nick Thorogood.
Feistauer joins Scripps after 10 years at Discovery Networks International, where she most recently worked as head of emerging networks, EMEA.
During her time at Discovery, she was responsible for content strategy and programme planning across a number of EMEA channels, and also managed the content integration between Discovery Networks International and SBS Networks in the Nordics, which Discovery acquired last year.
Feistauer has also previously worked at NBCUniversal as global head of research and started her career at McKinsey and Company’s media practice.
“Katharina joins us with an intrinsic understanding of the region and offers a wealth of experience drawn from years of mastering television programming for international markets. She will undoubtedly be an invaluable addition to our team as we continue to develop our portfolio of channels,” said Thorogood.
Scripps owns channel brands including Food Network and Travel Channel.
