Netflix preps launch of Sony’s Bloodline
Netflix will launch Bloodline, the new family drama from Sony Pictures Television, next March.
The show, which will be distributed outside of the Netflix territories by Sony’s programme sales arm, will roll out in the US and internationally in March.
In keeping with Netflix’s originals release strategy, all 13 episodes will roll out simultaneously.
The series stars Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), Ben Mendelsohn (The Dark Knight Rises), Linda Cardellini (Mad Men), Sam Shephard (The Right Stuff) and Sissy Spacek (Carrie) in a drama about a tight-knit family that has to face up to secrets when a black sheep brother returns to the fold.
The series is produced by Daniel Zelman and Glen and Todd Kessler’s prodco KZK, which also made Damages, and SPT.
It is Sony’s first original series for Netflix although it does distribute shows from the streaming service including House of Cards.
