American Gigolo TV series readied
Jerry Bruckheimer Television and US studio Paramount are working on a TV adaptation of 1980 psychological thriller film American Gigolo.
The original Paul Schrader-penned film followed Richard Gere as a narcissistic male escort that finds himself in trouble with the law.
Paramount Television is already adaptation classic Paramount library movies such as Shutter Island and The Truman Show, along with newer features including Monster-in-Law and Marley & Me.
Jerry Bruckheimer TV’s Jonathan Littman (CSI) will executive produce American Gigolo, which is now in development, along with KristieAnne Reed, who is co-executive producer. Michael Azzolino produces.
Bruckheimer, a producer on the original movie, is also an exec producer, while Schrader is an executive consultant.
