News brief: Amazon sets intn’l launch for first live-action kids
Amazon will launch its first live-action kids series before Christmas on its Prime Instant SVOD service in the UK and Germany.
Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street came out of Amazon’s open pilot process and has already launched in the US.
The show was one of five kids series ordered by Amazon late last year and is the streaming service’s first original live-action kids project.
It is aimed at 6-to-11s and comes from first-time writer David Anaxagoras and producer/director Luke Matheny.
The show follows the lives of three quirky suburban teens who live on Normal Street. It will launch on Prime Instant Video on December 19.
Tara Sorensen, head of kids’ programming at Amazon Studios said: “Luke and David have fully realised a nostalgic and cinematic adventure series that organically blurs the line between imagination and reality, which will resonate remarkably with kids and families.”
