Endemol takes TV Land shows overseas
Endemol will distribute US cable channel TV Land’s latest sitcoms.
Endemol Worldwide Distribution has taken international rights to The Jim Gaffigan Show and Impastor.
The former, a 11x30mins single-cam comedy, is inspired by New York stand-up Gaffigan’s life, and includes Peter Tolan (Rescue Me) among its creators. Sony Pictures Television is coproducing with Entertainment Partners and Brillstein Entertainment.
It launches on TV Land in 2015, with episodes re-running on Viacom sister channel Comedy Central.
Impastor follows a “gambling, pot-smoking slacker on the run from a loan shark who steals a man’s identity and ends up posing as the new gay pastor in a small, tightknit town”.
It comes from Christopher Vane (Good Luck Charlie) and will launch on TV Land next year.
