News brief: Channel 5 orders Car Crash TV

Viacom’s UK terrestrial broadcaster Channel 5 has commissioned Car Crash TV: How Not to Drive from Shine Group’s Shine North.

The show will viewers both good and bad examples of driving from dashboard cameras. Chris Barrie (Red Dwarf) will narrate.

Car Crash TV will launch on Channel 5, which Viacom acquired earlier this year, and its HD sister net in 2015.

Rick Murray (Idris Elba: King of Speed) is executive producer, while Ben Hirsch is producer. Shine International will have sales rights.
