Grandmother Lover attached to Channel 5
UK broadcaster Channel 5 has commissioned a documentary about a 31-year-old man that enjoys dating pension-age women.
Grandmother Lover is a 1x60mins special from Barcroft Productions (OAPs Behaving Badly) that’s set to broadcast next year.
It follows Pittsburgh resident Kyle Jones, who has had several experiences dating women aged up to 91. Producers say it will explore “sex and the single nan, revealing Kyle’s insatiable appetite for older ladies and captures the reaction of his family, friends and the wider world to his unusual dating choices”.
Greg Barnett commissioned the show for Channel 5, with Barcroft CEO Sam Barcroft and Nina Davies executive producing.
Barcroft first ran the story on its popular YouTube channel, Barcroft TV.
“This film is the latest programme to make the leap from Barcroft TV on YouTube to terrestrial broadcast,” said chief executive Barcroft. “It once again showcases our strategy for taking great stories to TV that explore the amazing side of life, having proven their appeal in the digital domain.”
