Fox leaves Gracepoint
US broadcast network Fox has cancelled crime drama Gracepoint after one season.
The show failed to gain the same traction as Broadchurch, the high-rating and critically acclaimed UK show upon which it was based.
Following middling ratings during its 10-episode run, Fox has pulled the trigger and cancelled the show, which follows David Tennant (Doctor Who) and Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad) as detectives investigating the death of a young boy in a small, seaside town.
Broadchurch, meanwhile, is returning to ITV in January next year for a second season run.
Gracepoint comes from Shine America, South Slope Pictures, Fox, Imaginary Friends and Broadchurch producer Kudos. The cancellation follows that of another Shine America remake, The Bridge, which was on FX.
