CEE broadcasters cook up Kitchen Nightmares formats
Several broadcasters in Central and Eastern Europe have acquired the Kitchen Nightmares format made famous by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
The format is distributed by Optomen International, which has struck a deal with free-to-air broadcaster Nova in Bulgaria.
In Romania, free-to-air broadcaster Pro TV will also run a local version of Kitchen Nightmares, in which a well-known chef/restauranteur aims to get failing eateries back on track.
Hungary’s TV2 has also ordered a local version of the show, which started out on Channel 4 in the UK, with Gordon Ramsay as the star chef.
Optomen has also secured deals for several new seasons of local Kitchen Nightmares in CEE territories that have had success with the format. TVN in Poland has licensed the show for a ninth series, while Prima in the Czech Republic has signed on for a fifth series.
