New Witnesses come forwards in Europe

More channel groups in Europe have acquired French drama Witnesses from Newen Distribution.
Following a recent deal with Channel 4 in the UK, Newen has sold the show to Belgium’s RTBF, Telenet and VRT in the territory’s various language regions; Norway’s NRK2; and Germany’s RTL Crime.
Newen says the series represents just the second time both NRK and RTL Crime had aired a French-language drama, the other being Zodiak Rights-distributed supernatural scripted show Les Revenants.
The 6x52mins Witnesses (locally Les Temoins) follows the investigation in north France into a series of unsettling instances of grave-digging, in which bodies are placed in ‘show homes’ to form ‘families’.
