FremantleMedia picks up MTV’s Eye Candy
FremantleMedia International has picked up international rights to Eye Candy, the new MTV drama about a 21-year-old hacker, based on the R.L. Stine novel of the same name.
The series will debut on MTV in the US next week. FremantleMedia will sell it internationally with the exception of the US.
The 10x60mins series is exec produced by Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity) and his Blumhouse Productions are attached as a production partner. It follows tech genius Lindy, played by Victorious star Victoria Justice, as she helps the authorities track down a deadly cyber stalker.
Hayley Dickson, vice president of television acquisitions and development, global content at FremantleMedia International said: “With its compelling blend of crime, mystery and its fast-paced portrayal of the modern ‘cyber’ world, Eye Candy is a daring, at times, chilling and timely drama series which we are confident will enthuse viewers around the world.”
FremantleMedia will start the sales push at the NATPE market in Miami later this month.
