eOne expands AMC distribution deal
Entertainment One has picked up international rights to The Making of the Mob: New York, the upcoming five-part Mafia doc series that will go out on AMC.
It marks the widening of the distribution relationship between AMC and eOne, building on their drama sales partnership.
The mob show charts 50 years of the crime syndicate in New York, starting in the 1950s. It is produced by Stephen David Entertainment, the US prodco recently acquired by Banijay.
The series will go out this spring on AMC. The US cable net already has a distribution deal with eOne for scripted programming. Endemol Worldwide Distribution has an ongoing deal to sell unscripted programming from the AMC group and the Mafia doc sits outside of this.
“We are so pleased to expand eOne’s relationship with AMC and add this high-end event mini-series to the eOne portfolio,” said Stuart Baxter president, eOne Television International. “AMC is a great partner to work with, producing top quality programming, and The Making of the Mob: New York is event television at its best, with strong international appeal.”
