Flame Distribution walks into Barefoot deal

UK-based Flame Distribution has inked a development deal with Welsh indie producer Barefoot Rascals.

The distributor has previously taken shows from Cardiff-based Barefoot Rascals to market and the pair have now cemented their relationship with a programming agreement.

The deal will see Flame provide development funding for a slate of five projects from doc producer Barefoot, which it will then distribute internationally.

The production company was created four years ago by factual producers Peter Edwards and Gordon Main. The latter said: “Flame has been incredibly supportive since we first met. They have successfully sold our titles internationally and are now taking the step of investing in our future.”

Flame CEO John Caldon added: “We are delighted to cement our ongoing relationship with up and coming indie Barefoot Rascals by announcing this development deal. We are impressed with the unique features and depth of Barefoot’s slate and look forward to being pro-actively involved.”
