Studio Lambert poaches BBC’s Hogg for drama
Gogglebox prodco Studio Lambert as appointed BBC drama producer Susan Hogg to lead its push into drama programming.
She will be head of drama and president, scripted programming at the All3Media-backed company, which earlier this month revealed it was branching out of unscripted and reality TV.
Hogg, a former head of drama at ITV Studios predecessor Granada Television, has been a senior drama executive producer with the UK’s pubcaster for more than 14 years working on series such as Lark Rise to Candleford, Waking the Dead and The Paradise.
Studio Lambert’s move into drama was announced concurrently with the news founder Stephen Lambert had signed a new five-year deal to remain with All3, which had agreed to fund a push into UK and US scripted programming.
“I’m delighted that Sue has agreed to lead our push into scripted programming,” said Lambert. “She has a fabulous relationship with many of Britain’s top writers and deep experience of developing and overseeing a wide range of great drama.”
Lambert added that “more than scripted series were ordered in the US last year across broadcast, cable and SVOD, and in many cases they weren’t bought from the usual suspects. There’s never been a better time to be developing scripted for both sides of the Atlantic”.
