9 Story poaches Marathon’s McCann

9 Story Media Group has hired Marathon Media creative producer Jennifer McCann to become director of development at the Canadian company.

At Peg + Cat producer 9 Story, McCann will be responsible for sourcing and developing animated and live-action kids properties.

Mike Drach will continue to lead projects in funded development, while McCann will focus on taking new projects to pitching stage.

“Jennifer’s experience across animation production, international co-production and development will be a tremendous asset to 9 Story,” said Natalie Dumoulin, vice president, creative affairs, 9 Story. McCann will report to Dumoulin.

Before Marathon, McCann worked at Zodiak Kids-owned Marathon, which is behind shows such as Totally Spies! and its spin-off, The Amazing Spiez!. Most recently, she was part of the team that developed Nickelodeon and Gulli toon Get Blake!.
