Networks visit Branson’s Necker Island
Five broadcasters have acquired Billionaire’s Paradise: Inside Necker Island, a one-hour documentary about Richard Branson’s Caribbean home.
The show debuted on BBC Two last month as part of a Lives of the Super Rich season, and has now gone to Medialaan in Belgium, Choice in New Zealand, DR in Denmark, SBS Discovery in Norway and Foxtel in Australia.
Hat Trick International has rights to the show via its first look deal with producer Plum Pictures, and closed today’s deals. HTI plans to officially launch it at MIPTV in April.
“Billionaire’s Paradise: Inside Necker Island – which will be one of our key launches at MIPTV is already attracting plenty of interest from our international clients, as shown by this first round of new deals, and we’re looking forward to confirming more global deals soon,” said Sarah Tong, HTI’s head of sales.
The doc looks at the holidaymakers and staff on the paradise island, and explores their relationships.
