Modern Family’s Levitan heads to MIPTV
Modern Family co-creator Steven Levitan is heading to MIPTV next month and will give a keynote address at the TV market.
Levitan, whose other credits include Frasier and The Larry Sanders Show, will talk about the success of Modern Family, which is on the ABC network in the US, including how it is starting to travel as a scripted format.
He will speak as part of a comedy strand with Reed Midem’s ‘drama at MIPTV’ conference sessions.
Levitan’s keynote will take place on the first day of the market at 11.30 and be followed by a comedy masterclass with Joe Lewis, head of comedy at Amazon Studios, Jill Offman, MD Comedy Central UK, and Ash Atalla, managing director of UK indie Roughcut Television.
Separately, Reed Midem announced four execs who will receive the Médaille d’Honneur award.
Electus boss Ben Silverman, FremantleMedia CEO Cécile Frot- Coutaz, Globo international chief Ricardo Scalamandré and Dogan chief executive Irfan Sahin will all pick up the award at a gala dinner in Cannes.
