Denmark’s TV2 plays Happy Families
Danish broadcaster TV2 has commissioned a local version of Happy Families, a format from Twofour Group that runs on ITV in the UK.
The Danish version will run to seven episodes and launch on March 23 under the title Family Denmark – A Close-Up. Danish prodcos Koncern is producing.
The fixed-rig format, which Twofour Rights sells internationally, follows every moment of life of four families over the course of a week. Caroline Hurmson brokered the deal for Twofour.
“Our series will look at one of the most emotionally distressed and conflict-filled period in family life: when teenagers experiment with alcohol, sex, cigarettes and cars,” said Anette Rømer, head of acquisitions and formats.
“In a final spin-off programme we bring together a psychologist and the parents to look back at some of the worst and funniest moments in the series in order to ensure the greatest possible dividend for our audience.”
