Bake Off rises in BBC-Keshet deal
Israeli free-to-air broadcaster Keshet has acquired British cooking competition format The Great Bake Off.
The deal is the first between BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the UK pubcaster, and Keshet.
The Israeli broadcaster will make the local 8x90mins version of Bake Off, in which amateur bakers put their skills to the test, and air it in 2016.
It is the sixteenth international format deal for Bake Off, which was created for the BBC by Love Productions, the UK indie that pay TV operator Sky bought a majority stake in last year.
Worlwide has shopped the Bake Off format to broadcasters including Nine Network in Australia, DR in Denmark, ProSiebenSat.1 in Germany and 1+1 in Ukraine. It has also started doing deals for spin-off series Junior Bake Off.
