Cineflix bringing supersized family to Cannes
Cineflix Rights will start selling Bringing up Bates, a new reality show about a Tennessee family with 19 kids, at MIPTV.
The show, which is produced by Sister Wives producer Figure 8 Films, has performed well for US cable net Up. It has greenlit a second run, which will launch in June and Cineflix will have 34x30mins to shop in Cannes.
Bringing up Bates follows the Bates family and their 19 kids, aged 2-to-25.
The deal to acquire Bringing Up Bates was brokered by Anthony Kimble, vice president, coproductions and North American acquisitions for Cineflix Rights.
Chris Bonney, CEO rights, Cineflix Media said: “Bringing Up Bates is family drama on an epic scale. It’s got all the warmth, laughter, and conflict that any family goes through along with the unexpected that unfolds between 21 close knit family members and all the complexities of organising daily life for such a huge household.”
