Downton prodco, Stan Lee making Sky drama
UK pay TV operator Sky has commissioned Lucky Man, a ten-part supernatural cop drama from comic book writer Stan Lee and the producer of Downton Abbey.
The series stars James Nesbitt (The Missing) as a down on his luck Murder Squad detective who is given a charm that confers upon the wearer the ability to control luck.
Carnival Films is producing the series, which will debut on Sky1 next year. It is based upon an original idea from Lee, and the comic book legend’s Pow! Entertainment is coproducing.
Adam MacDonald, director of Sky1, said: “The show is mysterious, thrilling, energetic and sure to appeal to our customers. I’m honoured that Sky 1 is working with Stan Lee on his first UK TV drama and I can’t wait for our customers to experience the gifts and misfortunes that luck can bring”.
Lee added: “Luck has always been a fascinating subject to me, and I am excited to finally share that fascination with audiences around the world.”
