Nat Geo hires London content exec
National Geographic Channels International has hired Simon Young to commission and exec produce series from its London content hub.
Young will work across the NGCI slate and also commission for the international arm of National Geographic Channel.
As commissioning executive producer, Young will report to Hamish Mykura, NGCI’s executive VP, and head of international content.
Young’s production credits include the recent Channel 4 doc Richard III: The King In The Car Park as well as Nazi Megastructures and WWI: Finding The Lost Battalion.
Mykura said: “Having previously worked with Simon on specialty programming and seen his star rise, especially with his recent coup in unearthing royal remains, we are very excited to be welcoming him to NGCI’s global content hub.
“Here, he will be in a position to actively develop programmes that leave a lasting cultural legacy across the globe.”
