Endemol Shine Latino shapes up
Endemol Shine Group’s Latin American business is shaping up with the appointment co-VPs, who will oversee the unit.
Endemol Shine Latino be a Spanish-language division of the merged Endemol and Shine production business based in Miami, targeting the US Hispanic and Mexican markets.
Shine’s VP, sales, Latin America Daniel Rodriguez (pictured, right) will lead sales for ESLA as executive VP, with Endemol Latino USA’s senior VP Mauricio Piccione (pictured, left) taking on production in the same post.
Rodriguez joined Shine from Cisneros Media Distribution before beinf promoted to SVP in May 2014, while Piccione has been with Endemol since 2010.
Veteran showrunner Sergio Lazarov is also joining the division as VP, production. He was most recently director of Telemundo’s La Voz Kids.
“Both Daniel and Mauricio’s skillsets perfectly complement each other, as both have more than 20 years of sales and production experience respectively in the Spanish-language marketplace,” said Endemol Shine North America’s co-CEO and chairmen Cris Abrego and Charlie Corwin. “Their new team now has the resources and backing of the Endemol Shine Group, with one of the most extensive and diverse portfolios of international hits in the world.”
The news is latest development in the formation of ESG, which came together after Shine parent 21st Century Fox and Endemol’s Apollo Global Management formed a joint venture to pool assets. Core Media, the third spoke in the JV, keeps its own corporate structure.
