Electus giving birth to Labor Games at MIPTV
US producer and distributor Electus has picked up international format rights to Labor Games, the new US cable show in which expectant couples take part in a pop-up gameshow in the delivery room.
The expectant couple can win prizes for their baby-to-be in the show, which is for TLC in the US, which will preview the series in May as part of a week of mum-themed programming.
It was created and is produced by Lighthearted Entertainment. Electus has worked with the US prodco on distribution of several of its formats including Dating Naked.
Electus International will launch internationally and will launch it at MIPTV next week.
“Labor Games is sure to be talked about, and we’re excited to bring the show to audiences around the world,” said John Pollak, president of Electus International. “We’re always on the lookout for buzzworthy programming, and we expect this series to resonate globally.”
The Electus MIPTV slate also includes Nat Geo survival series The Raft as well as ITV UK’s Bear Grylls: Mission Survive. It also has the scripted format rights to Jane the Virgin, the drama series produced by CBS for The CW.
