ORF, CCTV10 traverse the Himalayas
Austria’s ORF and Chinese statecaster CCTV10 are going into production on a three-part wildlife series, Sky River of the Himalayas.
Produced in 4K, the show reveals the nature and wildlife that lives in and around the famous Asian river region.
CITVC’s VP, Lynn Zhang will sign the coproduction agreement on behalf of CCTV10 at the ORF stand at MIPTV on Tuesday (April 14). ORF CEO Alexander Wrabetz, CFO Richard Grasl will also be in attendance along with the head of ORF’s natural history unit, Andrew Solomon, Helene Coldefy from French coproducer Arte and Peter Arens from Germany’s ZDF.
Coproducing production companies Pre TV, DreiD.at and EOS Films will round out those at the event.
Sky Rivers represents the latest example of CCTV coproducing a natural history project with European partners, but is also the first time the Chinese state broadcaster has worked with ORF on such a major project.
