Super RTL pits at Trucktown
German family channel Super RTL has acquired Canadian animated series Trucktown.
The channel has bought the show from Nelvana Enterprises, and will debut it later this year. It first launched on Nelvana’s Corus Entertainment stablemate preschool net Treehouse is September last year.
Trucktown follows a group of playful but rough-and-tumble trucks that roar around the eponymous town, and is based on the books of children’s author Jon Scieszka.
“We are happy to welcome Trucktown to our pre-school block soon,” said Carsten Göttel, Super RTL’s programme director. “The special mixture of friendly and charming characters, stories full of action and a good share of fun did convince us and will surely win the hearts of our pre-school audience, too.”
In France, the show debuted on France 5’s ZouZou block in February.
