ITV to experience Life at the Extreme
The Million Pound Drop presenter Davina McCall is to front an ITV factual series that looks at the world’s most extreme environments.
Life at the Extreme is a 4x60mins series from Grant Mansfield’s Plimsoll Productions.
The show follows McCall’s travels to the hottest, coldest, deepest and wettest places on Earth, to look at the lives of the animals that live in these seemingly inhospitable conditions.
Factual commissioning editor Andrew O’Connell and director of factual Richard Klein commissioned the show for UK broadcaster ITV. Martha Holmes, Gavin Henderson and Mansfield (pictured) executive produce.
Bristol-based Plimsoll secured its debut commission, Big Family Mansion, with ITV last year.
Presenter McCall is best know for her run as host of Big Brother while it ran on Channel 4 and now as the face of another Endemol format, The Million Pound Drop (aka The Money Drop).
“I’m delighted that Davina is taking on these extreme locations,” said O’Connell. “She’ll bring a breath of fresh air to natural history.”
