BBC Follows the Money with Danish drama deal
Follow the Money (Bedraget) has become the latest foreign-language drama acquired by UK public broadcaster the BBC for its high-end arts, culture and drama channel BBC Four channel.
The show hails from Danish pubcaster DR and is sold by DR Sales, which struck the BBC deal.
It was penned by Borgen co-writer Jeppe Gjervig Gram and is set in the world of high finance, following a fraud squad investigating big money financial crime.
Sue Deeks acquired it for BBC Four and it is the latest international drama deal she has completed.
Earlier this week, it emerged Deeks had picked up Icelandic series Trapped, which will also go out on BBC Four.
Like Trapped, Follow the Money sees the BBC make an early pre-buy. The ten-part series is in production and will go out on DR next January.
It is being made by DR with coproduction partners SVT, NRK and YLE. The Nordisk Film and TV Fund also part-funded the upcoming series.
