Lucifer rises on Fox with Minority Report

US network Fox has greenlit TV versions of DC Comics’ Lucifer and movie Minority Report.

Lucifer is from Warner Bros. Television, DC Comics and Jerry Bruckheimer Television. It follows a miserable Lord of Hell, who decides to help the LAPD catch and punish criminals.

Minority Report, one of pilot season’s buzziest projects, is set 10 years after the end of the Tom Cruise movie and comes from Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television, Paramount Television and 20^th Century Fox Television.

It follows one of three ‘pre-cogs’ – individuals with the ability to predict crimes before they happen – and they struggle with their power.

The shows joins The Frankenstein Code, which is based on the classic horror character and comes from 20^th Century Fox TV; and Rosewood, an investigative drama series from 20^th and Temple Hill Entertainment about a brilliant private pathologist in Miami.

Meanwhile, Fox has cut procedural Backstrom from its schedule after one season and serial killer drama The Following after two seasons. Low-rating new season shows Weird Loners and Mulaney are also expected to get the chop when Fox officially announces its schedule later today.

On the comedy from, Fox has ordered single cam series Grandfathered, an ABC Studios, 20^th and Rhode Island Ave Productions show about a bachelor who discovers he is not only a father but also a grandfather.

The Guide to Surviving Life is an ensemble comedy about navigating life in your twenties from 20th TV and The Jackal Group.

The Grinder, also from 20^th, a single cam comedy starring Rob Lower (The West Wing) about a TV lawyer who moves home to take over the family firm when his show comes to an end.
