Pernel snags Printemps doc commission
French indie producer Pernel Media has been commissioned to make a doc about Parisian luxury department store Printemps, TBI understands.
The 1x60mins doc Printemps; 150 years of a Parisian Landmark (WT) has been ordered by RMC Decouverte.
It will look at the architectural story of the iconic Printemps building in central Paris, with new footage and interviews and never seen before archive.
DTT channel RMC will transit the show to coincide with the 150th anniversary of the Printemps. Pernel has gained exclusive access after striking a deal with the store.
“Printemps; 150 years of a Parisian Landmark will tell the story of the Printemps building from the perspective of a ‘mega structure,” said Pernel boss Samuel Kissous.
He added: “The film is sure to be a fascinating portrait of a much-loved Parisian building and the latest in our series of documentaries to explore the hidden stories behind the most famous Paris landmarks”.
Pernel is also in talks with Printemps about an ob-doc about the lives of the people that work in the shop.
The France-based indie’s other recent documentary commissions include Paris Métro; a city under the city and Champs Elysées; the most beautiful avenue in the world.
