Zodiak Kids conjures Magiki deal
French kids channels Gulli and its Italian counterpart Super have ordered Magiki, a new animated kids series from Zodiak Kids and Winx Club producer Rainbow Media.
DeAgostini runs the Super channel in Italy and the new show is based on a range of kids toys the media company sells across Europe.
DeAgostini also owns Zodiak, the kids division of which is making the new 52x11mins series.
Zodiak Kids’ prodco Télé Images will handle production with Rainbow, with the animation done by Malaysia-based Animasia.
In France, the show will run on Lagardère youth channels Gulli, Canal J and Tiji.
The show will target 4-to-7s and focuses on the adventures of a girl named Ginger who, with a magic key, enters into a magical kingdom populated by animals, mermaids, unicorns, and elves.
Zodiak will sell the show internationally.
