Nerd production chief exiting
UK prodco Nerd TV has said goodbye to long-serving production chief Elaine Foster, TBI has learned.
Foster (pictured) has been with Red Arrow Entertainment-owned Nerd since 2012, and until her departure was head of production.
In the role, Foster oversaw production, office management, business affairs and company finance. She counts Tiger Aspect productions, Blink Films and Alaska TV among her previous companies.
“After three and a half fantastic years as Nerd TV’s head of production, Elaine Foster is leaving the company to pursue fresh opportunities,” said Nerd co-founder and managing director Jago Lee. “Elaine has been integral to growing the team and company in both the UK and USA, and we wish her all the best for the future.”
Nerd, which targets the UK and US markets, is best known for docs such as Channel 4’s The 90s – Ten Years That Changed the World and Inside the Gangster’s Code. Current series include National Geographic Channels International and Channel 4’s Idiot Proof (Man Vs. Viral), My Selfie Life for Fusion in the US and Find My First Love for FYI.
It was sold to ProSiebenSat.1 Group-owned Red Arrow in 2012 two years after Lee, John Farrar and Charlie Parsons created the company.
In March, Nerd brought on Jeremy Lee, the Fresh One producer, to work on its development slate and executive produce new programmes.
TBI understands the company is set to announce a number of new hires.
