WWE Network launches in Italy
Wrestling entertainment company WWE has launched its over-the-top video service, WWE Network, in Italy.
The US English-language version of the service is available for US$9.99 per-month, which gives viewers access to all 12 live WWE pay-per-view events per year, scheduled programming 24-hour a day, and a VOD library of more than 3,300 hours of content.
“We are constantly working to enhance the experience for WWE fans around the world. Our Italian fans are passionate and engaged, and we are thrilled to make WWE Network available to them,” said Gerrit Meier, WWE executive vice-president, international.
WWE Network launched for the first time outside the US in August and is now available in more than 175 countries including Spain, France, UK and Ireland.
Viewers can access the service online and through connected devices like Xbox One and Xbox 360 games consoles, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Roku streaming devices, and smart TVs.
WWE said it expects to launch WWE Network on Sony platforms, including Sony PlayStation 3 and Sony PlayStation 4 consoles ahead of its SummerSlam event on August 23.
