Eccho poaches Imagina exec for Lat Am role
Eccho Rights has hired Barbora Susterova to become its first head of Latin America.
Susterova (pictured) joins the Spark Eccho Group-owned distributor this month from Spanish giant Imagina, where she has handled sales of territories including Latin America for the past eight years.
Eccho has recently sold Turkish drama Ezel into ten Latin American territories, and with buyers in the region now increasingly interested in such fare for their telenovela slots, the distributor has made its move.
“In the past six months we have seen increased interest in our catalogue from Latin America and feel it is time to strengthen our presence in the region,” said Eccho Rights managing director Fredrik af Malmborg.
“Barbora’s experience of the international market for drama series and her extensive knowledge of the Latin American market will help Eccho Rights to build on this interest.”
Besides Imagina, Susterova also counts stints at Dramedy and Globomedia on her CV.
“It’s a great opportunity to form part of the team and I gladly accepted the challenge to secure the presence of Eccho Rights in these territories,” said Susterova. “I’m sure that Eccho Rights’ strong catalogue will be very interesting for clients in the region.”
