Celestial Tiger renews output deals

Asia’s Celestial Tiger Entertainment has renewed three key output deals, securing a pipeline of Chinese movies for its channels.

The Saban-, Lionsgate- and Astro-backed channel operator has re-upped with Hong Kong-based studios Emperor Motion Pictures, Mega-Vision Project Workshop Limited and Universe Entertainment.

The agreements give Celestial exclusive pay TV, pay-per-view and OTT rights to the features from the film studios. They will launch on its linear Celestial Movies channel in Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia.

The deals mean Celestial will have upcoming Chinese-language movies including Heaven in the Dark, From Vegas to Macau and July Rhapsody; Kill Time.
