Nick’s free kids app hits Portugal
Viacom-owned kids channel Nickelodeon has launched its free app in Portugal for the first time.
The free iOS and Android Nick App will be available through the Apple Store and Google Play to Portuguese viewers, offering access to about 1,000 items of Nickelodeon-themed content.
Portuguese kids will be able to view short-form videos of original skits, sketches and comedic items; behind-the-scenes clips and photos from Nick stars and animated characters as well as kid polls and newly created games.
While the app is free to use, subscribers to Nickelodeon through pay TV operator Nos’s service will be able to view full episodes via the app through an authentication process.
The Nick App first launched in the US for iOS devices in 2013 and has been downloaded 17 million times to date. In addition to the US and Portugal, the app is available in the UK and across Latin America.
