CBS Drama joins Freeview in the UK
CBS Drama is to launch on digital free-to-air platform Freeview in the UK, and has acquired three library titles from CBS Studios International.
The network is currently carried on the Sky and Virgin Media pay TV satellite platforms and Freesat.
The new deal means it will now be available in 90% of the UK’s television households.
Meanwhile, CBS Drama has acquired Sex and the City, Californication (pictured) and Nurse Jackie for an autumn programming block beginning at 10.05pm.
CBS Drama is owned and operated by CBS AMC Networks UK Channels Partnerships, which is a joint venture between CBS Corp. and AMC Networks International – Zone. The JV’s CBS Action and CBS Reality channels joined Freeview last year, with Horro Channel added in 2015.
“CBS Drama offers some of the best in British and American drama and we look forward to sharing this popular content with the Freeview audiences,” said Tanya Gugenheim, chief business development and new media officer at AMCNI – Zone.
