UKTV’s Gold orders Catherine Tate comedy

UKTV’s British comedy channel Gold has commissioned a scripted one-off from comedian Catherine Tate.

The Catherine Tate Show creator will star in Do Not Disturb, which is set in a boutique hotel in Strateford-upon-Avon and will TX on Gold in January next year.

The 1x60mins comedy is from Lonesome Pine Productions and follows an estranged husband and wife who attempt reconciliation talks after her extra marital affair with a much younger man.

UKTV commissioning editor Simon Lupton commissioned the show, which Gold general manager Steve North ordered.

“We’re delighted that Catherine Tate will bring her unique wit and comedy genius to the heart of this landmark programme for Gold,” said Lupton. “Do Not Disturb has all the hallmarks of a brilliant comedic set up that will resonate with the channel’s audience.”
