eOne appoints TV COO
Entertainment One has upped Jeff Lynas to COO of its television division, handing him responsibility for the day to day operation of its international TV business.
Lynas has been elevated from senior VP, operations and business development, a role he will continue to hold.
He will in part replace Margaret O’Brien, who was eOne Television’s COO and president of Entertainment One Canada before being elevated to executive VP, corporate development at the parent group.
Corus Kids buyer Jocelyn Hamilton will take over O’Brien’s Canada-focused duties as president on September 8.
Based in LA, Lynas will report to eOne TV CEO John Morayniss, who said: “Jeff has been instrumental in the strategy development, growth and success of eOne Television, and was a key member of the leadership team of its predecessor Blueprint. He is forward-thinking, understands the US and international markets and plots how best to make it all work for our business.”
Lynas said: “We’re now working with so many of the most talented creative and well-regarded producers in the world and we’re looking at ways to further grow and strengthen our original pipeline and distribution infrastructure to bring more opportunities to those partners.”
The exec worked on the integration of Blueprint into eOne in 2008. Prior to that, he was at Alliance Atlantis in a sales role. He has also managed the Film Fund at Telefilm Canada.
