News brief: Ovation promotes for acquisitions chief

US arts network has promoted Lori Hall to a post that adds programme acquisitions to her remit, as the network increasingly seeks international content.

Formerly VP, programme scheduling, Hall will now be VP, programming planning, scheduling and acquisitions. She will continue to report to Ovation to Scott Woodward, executive VP, programming and productions.

“The network is truly becoming a multi-platform media company and licensing content for those platforms is a big priority for us,” said Hall.

“I’m looking forward to attending markets like MIPCOM where I have the opportunity to talk with content creators and distributors of all sizes who may have properties available to suit our brand, as well as our linear and digital needs.”
